Saturn is supposed to rule over time, death and melancholy. Melancholy, which is often an inactive process, still controls active, creative processes. I think melancholy is an absolutely necessery state in artistic work. I am interested in this untouchable state of mind, and the borderland between melancholy and creativity.
I have made a sculptural and cinematic cermony where I dissolve Saturn. The ghostly sound in the film is borrowed from NASA:s recordings from the real planet SaturnĀ“s radio signals and I have composed the rhythms. I wanted to create a creeping, languorous and glimmering dance in the destruction.
